PT DKI upholds Ariyanto's 16-year term in CPO bribery case

The appeals court also raised the replacement payment to Rp21.6 billion, above the Rp16.25 billion ordered at first instance.

The DKI Jakarta High Court upheld a 16-year prison sentence for lawyer Ariyanto Bakri, known as “Ary Gadun FM”, in a bribery and money-laundering case tied to efforts to secure an acquittal in the crude palm oil export case. The appeal ruling, read on June 8, 2026, also imposed a Rp600 million fine. If the fine is not paid, the convict's assets will be seized and auctioned, or replaced by 150 days in prison. The appellate panel, chaired by Budi Susilo, also increased the additional replacement payment to Rp21,602,138,412. If that is not paid within a month after the ruling becomes final and binding, prosecutors may seize Ariyanto's assets; if the assets are not sufficient, the sentence increases by 7 years. In the case, total bribes to secure the acquittal were said to have reached US$4 million.
