Pratt's lead for LA mayor runoff spot shrinks to 7,494 votes
What's next: Los Angeles County can count ballots received by June 9, and California must certify the primary by July 10.
Spencer Pratt's bid to reach the Los Angeles mayoral runoff remained unsettled nearly a week after Election Day, with his edge over City Councilmember Nithya Raman narrowing to 7,494 votes. The latest Associated Press tally showed Mayor Karen Bass in first place with 235,180 votes, or 34.8%, followed by Pratt with 184,596 votes, or 27.3%, and Raman with 177,102 votes, or 26.2%. In the latest ballot batch, Raman gained 23,514 votes while Pratt added 10,336, cutting his margin sharply. Under California's top-two primary system, the top two finishers move on to November unless a candidate wins more than 50%. Los Angeles County is still counting ballots postmarked by Election Day and received by June 9.
