Pramono to demolish old JPO “Love-Hate” on Rasuna Said
The older provincial JPO was deemed inaccessible for people with disabilities because it lacks an elevator and sits at a different height.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has decided to demolish the old JPO that went viral under the nickname “Love-Hate Relationship” on Jalan HR Rasuna Said, Kuningan, South Jakarta. The decision came after he inspected two JPOs standing close together but not connected to each other. According to Pramono, both serve the same function as pedestrian crossings and access points to public transportation, including LRT Jabodebek. But the older JPO owned by the Jakarta provincial government is considered outdated, lacks an elevator, and is difficult for people with disabilities to use because of the difference in height from the surrounding area. The newer JPO, linked to LRT and KAI, will be kept and its maintenance improved so it is easier for residents to use.
