Pramono targets Persija title in 2026/2027 for Jakarta’s 500th

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is targeting Persija Jakarta to win the league title in the 2026/2027 season as a gift ahead of Jakarta’s 500th anniversary in 2027. He conveyed the hope at the kickoff event for a Bank Jakarta and Persija collaboration in Taman Suropati, Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Sunday (9/8). Pramono said Persija has a chance to contend for the championship, especially now that the club is coached by Shin Tae-yong. He also described Persija as a symbol of pride for residents of the capital and said he hopes the bond between the club and its supporters remains strong. Beyond sporting achievement, Pramono wants Jakarta to be better known as a sport tourism destination and to open wider space for sports matches and major events.
