Pramono allows World Cup watch parties at BUMD, OPD if work unaffected
Pasar Jaya is preparing watch parties at three sites as many 2026 World Cup matches in Jakarta will fall during work hours.
DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is allowing BUMD and OPD that want to hold watch parties for the 2026 World Cup, on the condition that they do not disrupt working hours. He said many BUMD and OPD have already asked for permission to screen matches, but the timing overlaps with work hours, so the events must be tightly arranged. One of the groups preparing watch parties is Perumda Pasar Jaya at three locations. Pramono said the activity could become a problem if it is not managed properly, but he is still leaving room for it because the public and ASN also want to follow the tournament. The 2026 World Cup runs from 11 June to 19 July in 16 cities across three host countries: the United States, Canada and Mexico.
