Prabowo Was Briefed on Alleged Wiretaps, 3 Police Named Suspects

Yusril said the police chief reported the case to the President, while Bareskrim detained three suspects and questioned one witness.

President Prabowo Subianto has been informed of the alleged wiretapping against him through a report from National Police Chief Suyudi Ario Seto. Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra said the case is serious because it targeted the head of state and several ministers, while the purpose of the wiretapping remains unknown. Separately, Bareskrim Polri named three police personnel identified as LSP, ASN, and EH as suspects in alleged illegal wiretapping, illegal access, and deletion of electronic data. Bareskrim Chief Asep Safrudin said the alleged targets included the President, state officials, political figures, media outlets, mass organization figures, non-governmental organizations, and businesspeople. The three are being held at the Bareskrim detention center, while another person identified as SU is still being questioned as a witness.
