Prabowo urges Bahlil and PLN to speed Kalimantan power recovery
Officials attribute the outage to maintenance and network issues, not an energy shortage, as PLN restores the Kalsel-Kalteng grid.
President Prabowo Subianto ordered Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia to coordinate with PT PLN (Persero) to accelerate handling of power outages still occurring in several points in Kalimantan. The directive was delivered during a limited meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, after the government discussed electricity issues with PLN. Bahlil said the temporary disruption, according to information from PLN, did not stem from an energy supply shortage, but from maintenance work and problems in the network. In the field, PLN is also restoring the Kalimantan Interconnection System to maintain supply in Kalimantan Selatan and Kalimantan Tengah. PLN previously said the disruption involved the generator at PLTU Asam-Asam as well as pipe leaks in the boiler and turbine at two IPP generating units.
