Prabowo urges 1,204 IPDN junior officials to shun corruption

He also said IPDN admissions show meritocracy at work, with graduates from laborers' and farmers' families and from enlisted personnel.

President Prabowo Subianto urged 1,204 graduates of the Institut Pemerintahan Dalam Negeri who were inaugurated as junior civil servants at the IPDN Jatinangor campus in Sumedang on Wednesday (29/7) to work honestly, discipline themselves, stay clean and avoid corruption. He stressed that people need officials who serve, protect and are present when needed, not a convoluted bureaucracy or self-interested officeholders. In the same remarks, Prabowo said IPDN selection shows the meritocracy system is working because those who passed came from diverse backgrounds, including the children of laborers, farmers and enlisted personnel. He said that diversity proves that the chance to become state officials is open to anyone who performs well.
