Prabowo to receive credentials from 8 foreign envoys in Jakarta

President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to receive letters of credence from eight foreign ambassadors at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday, June 8, 2026. The handover of the letters of credence marks the start of their formal duties in Indonesia. State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi said the agenda had been planned earlier, but was held on the same day as the swearing-in of several state officials for efficiency and to keep the schedule aligned. In the afternoon, Prabowo is also scheduled to inaugurate Nanik S Deyang as Head of Badan Gizi Nasional and Said Iqbal as Special Presidential Adviser for labor issues and worker welfare. Earlier, the scheduling of the credential ceremony drew attention because several ambassadorial nominees were said to have waited for months since the last ceremony in November 2025.
