Prabowo to receive credentials of 17 foreign envoy candidates on June 8
The Jakarta Palace ceremony will coincide with the swearing-in of the National Nutrition Agency chief and two deputies, held separately.
President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to receive letters of credence from 17 candidates for ambassadors of friendly countries on Monday, June 8, 2026, at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta. State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said the event will be held the same day as the inauguration of state officials, but in a separate forum. Those to be sworn in are National Nutrition Agency chief Nanik Sudaryati Deyang and two deputies, Agustina Arumsari and Maj. Gen. TNI Trenggono. The credentials handover has drawn attention because the foreign diplomats have been waiting for months, with some waiting as long as eight months, according to Dino Patti Djalal. Foreign Minister Sugiono said communication with the ambassadors continues and bilateral cooperation has not been disrupted. The last similar ceremony was held in November 2025.
