Prabowo sets Nov. 10 launch for digital welfare portal
The plan would shift subsidies from in-kind aid to direct cash transfers, with pilot tests already covering 514 regencies and cities.
President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to launch the digitalization of social protection on Nov. 10, 2026. National Economic Council Chairman Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said the integrated portal is being prepared to make social assistance more targeted and to serve as the basis for a shift from product-based subsidies to direct cash transfers. According to DEN member Firman Hidayat, the trial has reached 514 kabupaten/kota, with 11.5 million head of households registered and 775,000 perlinsos agents helping with enrollment. The portal also receives more than 600,000 registrants a day. In a trial in Bali, exclusion error fell 24.1 percent and inclusion error dropped 4.1 percent, which was seen as improving the accuracy and transparency of social assistance distribution.
