Prabowo opens HIPMI congress in Lampung, urges nationalist young entrepreneurs
Prabowo calls HIPMI an important forum for young business owners, while stressing that national progress depends on nationalism.
President Prabowo Subianto opened the XVIII National Congress of Himpunan Pengusaha Muda Indonesia in Bandar Lampung on Wednesday (10/6/2026). In his speech, Prabowo highlighted his long association with HIPMI and joked that he already knew the “behavior” of the group’s leaders. At the forum, which was also attended by MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani, DPD Chairman Sutan Bachtiar Najamudin, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, and HIPMI Chairman Akbar Himawan Buchari, Prabowo described HIPMI as an important forum for young entrepreneurs. He then stressed that young businesspeople need a strong sense of nationalism because, he said, there can be no national progress without nationalism.
