Presiden Prabowo Subianto appointed Deputy Agriculture Minister Sudaryono as head of the National Nutrition Agency on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, replacing Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, who resigned the same day. The swearing-in was scheduled for the afternoon at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta. State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said Sudaryono was chosen because he has been involved from the start in designing and carrying out the Makan Bergizi Gratis program. At the Agriculture Ministry, he also worked on the program's food supply chain. The government said Sudaryono will not hold dual posts, so he will leave his position at the Agriculture Ministry after being sworn in. Nanik resigned, saying she wanted to focus on heart treatment.
