Prabowo and Thai PM form first RI-Thai trade commission

The two countries are targeting $20 billion in trade by 2030 under a 2026-2030 strategic partnership roadmap.

President Prabowo Subianto and Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul formed a Joint Trade Commission (JTC), the first joint trade commission in the history of Indonesia-Thailand relations. The agreement was reached during a bilateral meeting at Istana Merdeka in Jakarta on Monday, and will serve as a new mechanism to open business opportunities and remove trade barriers. Prabowo said the two countries are targeting trade of $20 billion by 2030 through the implementation of the 2026-2030 Strategic Partnership Roadmap. Beyond trade, Indonesia and Thailand also agreed to expand investment, market access and food security cooperation through agricultural technology, logistics, food processing and stronger supply chains. In the energy sector, both sides also pushed for the establishment of the Indonesia-Thailand Energy Forum.
