PPATK recorded online gambling fund turnover of Rp40.3 trillion in the first quarter of 2026, with total deposits of Rp10.59 trillion. PPATK head Ivan Yustiavandana said gambling activity has not eased even as turnover in 2025 fell 20 percent to Rp286.84 trillion from Rp359.81 trillion in 2024. Transaction patterns are now more frequent, more dispersed and use smaller amounts. PPATK also saw a shift in deposit methods: in 2025, QRIS accounted for 78.5 percent of deposit frequency, or 305.35 million transactions worth Rp19.35 trillion, then rose to 88.6 percent in the first quarter of 2026. The gambling network is said to use proxy accounts, dormant bank accounts, false identities, fictitious UMKM or digital merchants, and merchant aggregators to disguise deposits as ordinary trade transactions.
