Polri uncovers 1.2-ton meth lab in Aceh, hunts mastermind in China
Police are preparing money-laundering charges, reviewing 6 cellphones and pursuing five fugitives besides the main controller, LS.
Polri dismantled a secret narcotics laboratory in Pidie, Aceh, seizing 1.2 tons gross of evidence including 20 drums of liquid methamphetamine and about 500 kilograms of crystal meth. National Police Chief Suyudi Ario Seto called it the largest clandestine lab ever uncovered in Indonesia. The operation was carried out by a joint team from Bareskrim Polri, BNN and the Directorate General of Customs and Excise at two shophouses converted into a methamphetamine factory. Among those arrested were LJ, F, MY, AK and AY. Police are also hunting wanted suspects Z, ES, J, BR and SS, and are coordinating with NC City in China to track the main controller, LS. Initial findings link the network to syndicates from China, Malaysia and Indonesia.
