Polri suspends 4 Sukoharjo officers after boarding school raid
Besides the police chief, the head of criminal investigations, the head of general crimes and the head of women and children unit are under Propam review after complaints from students and caretakers.
Polri has suspended Sukoharjo Police Chief AKBP Andhika Dharma Sena and three other officers after complaints surfaced over a search at Pondok Pesantren Hamalatul Quran in Sukoharjo, Central Java. The other suspended officers are Iptu AS, head of criminal investigations, Ipda FA as head of general crimes, and Ipda RAP as head of the women and children unit. The four are now being examined by Polri's Division of Profession and Security. Head of the Public Information Bureau of the Polri Public Relations Division Brigjen Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko said the move was taken as follow-up to the internal handling of the case and as a form of accountability for the incident complained about, especially its impact on the students and their caretakers. Polri said the job changes and suspensions were carried out as an evaluation step to maintain public trust.
