Polri seeks Rp66.1 trillion in extra 2027 budget from DPR
The agency’s ideal 2027 budget rises to Rp184.1 trillion, with the largest extra request set for Rp40.6 trillion in capital spending.
Polri proposed an additional Rp66.1 trillion for 2027 in a working meeting with Commission III of the DPR at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Wednesday, after the indicative ceiling set by the Finance Ministry and Bappenas came to Rp118 trillion. Deputy Chief Dedi Prasetyo said Polri’s ideal 2027 budget needs had risen to Rp184.1 trillion after a rationalization that factored in higher fuel prices and the rupiah exchange rate against the U.S. dollar. Of the additional amount sought, the largest allocation is Rp40.6 trillion for capital spending, followed by Rp20.9 trillion for goods spending and Rp4.5 trillion for personnel spending. The funds are planned, among other things, for electric vehicles for public services, Brimob special vehicles, construction of headquarters in border areas, official housing and security equipment for the 2029 election.
