Police detain man linked to Molotov attacks on 2 Surabaya posts
Investigators are still examining the motive, evidence and whether others were involved in the Saturday night attack.
Polrestabes Surabaya detained a man suspected of involvement in the throwing of a suspected Molotov cocktail at the Pos Lantas Margorejo and Pos Lantas Cito on Saturday night, August 15. Polda Jawa Timur said investigators are still examining the motive, evidence, the sequence of events, and the possibility that others were involved. Earlier, a witness near the Pos Lantas A Yani Margorejo saw a motorcyclist in a dark jacket and light blue helmet ignite a fire and throw an object in front of the post door at around 19.30 WIB. The witness heard a sound like breaking glass, not an explosion. The fire was said to have briefly burned in front of the post before being put out by passing motorists. Police said two locations were affected, but there was no major damage and services continued.
