They are now being questioned at Ditreskrimum over firecrackers, flares, and bottles suspected of being prepared as triggers for Molotov cocktails. Polda Metro Jaya public relations chief Budi Hermanto said the action was taken to prevent unrest during the demonstrations. From initial findings, police suspect they were not part of the student groups, but outsiders seeking to exploit the situation to spark clashes with officers. On the same day, police deployed 9.242 joint personnel to secure 31 public demonstrations and 16 community activities across several parts of DKI Jakarta.
