Police question 10 witnesses in two reports against Hotman Paris
Investigators will next seek expert testimony, including on language and the ITE law, before summoning Hotman Paris.
Investigators at Polda Metro Jaya have questioned 10 witnesses in connection with two reports alleging insults by a journalist against lawyer Hotman Paris. The questioning is tied to a report filed by Media Independen Online Indonesia and handled by Ditreskrimum, as well as a report by Persatuan Wartawan Indonesia handled by Ditreskrimsus. Polda Metro Jaya Criminal Investigation Director Kombes Iman Imanuddin said investigators are still examining witness statements and stressed there was no special treatment in the case. Public Relations Chief Kombes Budi Hermanto added that investigators will seek expert opinions, including from a language expert and an expert on the ITE law, before scheduling a summons for the reported party. The case stems from remarks Hotman made to a journalist during a session at the Kejaksaan Agung building on 17 July.
