Police investigate discovery of 995 firearms at school foundation in South Jakarta
The foundation also reported finding narcotics, pornographic VCDs and another closed room resembling a bunker that has not been opened.
The South Jakarta Metro Police are investigating the discovery of 995 firearms and air guns at the building of a private school foundation in Pondok Pinang, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta. Police received a public report on 15 July 2026 and, according to police, first filed a model A report after the discovery came to light. The foundation's legal counsel, Hermawanto, said the weapons, ammunition and accessories were found on 10-11 July when a room used by the former foundation chairman was opened for school needs. On 5 August, the foundation said it found several more firearms, marijuana and methamphetamine, as well as pornographic VCDs, in another room. The foundation also said one sealed room resembling a bunker has not yet been opened and asked police for assistance. The former foundation chairman was previously said to have been dismissed in April 2026.
