Police chief visits the graves of Gus Dur, Soekarno and Soeharto

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo visited the graves of fourth president Abdurrahman Wahid, or Gus Dur, in Jombang, first president Soekarno in Blitar, and second president Soeharto at Astana Giribangun, Karanganyar, on Saturday (20/6), ahead of the 80th Bhayangkara Day on 1 July 2026. At each site, he and his entourage offered prayers and scattered flowers. Polri public relations chief Johnny Eddizon Isir said the visit was a sign of respect for national figures who contributed to democracy and reform, including strengthening Polri after the reform era. Listyo Sigit said the tradition is intended to draw lessons from the struggles of earlier leaders as preparation for serving the public. After the three graves, the entourage is scheduled to end the pilgrimage at Taman Makam Pahlawan Kalibata.
