PKH task force retakes 111.71 hectares of Bukit Soeharto park
The land in Samboja, Kutai Kartanegara, had been used by PT Singlurus Pratama for coal mining without a forest-use permit.
The Forest Area Enforcement Task Force (PKH) has taken back 111.71 hectares of forest area in Taman Hutan Raya Bukit Soeharto, Samboja, Kutai Kartanegara regency, East Kalimantan. The land had previously been controlled by PT Singlurus Pratama for coal mining activities without a forest-area use permit. On Monday, 31 August 2026, TNI personnel installed a notice board at the former mine site to mark the return of the area to the state. The joint task force involving the TNI, Polri and the Attorney General's Office said the move is part of efforts to enforce forest-area rules and restore its ecological function. TNI Chief of General Staff Lt. Gen. Richard Taruli H. Tampubolon and PKH Task Force head Kuntadi also inspected the former mine site.
