Phase II of IPTC Karanganyar begins, arena and education hall first
The government also prioritizes a skybridge and hybrid generator to improve mobility and power reliability for athletes with disabilities.
The government has started phase II construction of the Indonesia Paralympic Training Center (IPTC) in Karanganyar, Central Java, giving priority to the Education Building and the Sports Hall because they are considered most needed by athletes. Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo inspected the project on Monday, 15 June 2026, and said adjustments were made to follow the needs submitted by the National Paralympic Committee Indonesia. In addition to the education building, with capacity for around 400 people, the next phase includes a training center for team sports, a skybridge connecting the buildings, and a hybrid generator to strengthen the power system. PT Nindya Karya is the main contractor. The IPTC complex now stands on more than 80 thousand square meters and includes paralympic sports facilities, a swimming pool, a soccer field, an athletics track and accessible athlete housing.
