Pertamina opens learning space for 145 coastal children in Bitung
The RASI program in Bitung Barat 1 has run since 2023 and held more than 20 experience-based learning activities.
Pertamina Patra Niaga has created Rumah Anak Pesisir (RASI), a nonformal education space for coastal children in Kota Bitung, Sulawesi Utara. The social responsibility program is run through Integrated Terminal Bitung with community groups, volunteers and local stakeholders. Since it began in 2023, RASI has served as a learning space for more than 145 children in Pemukiman Candi, Lingkungan III, Kelurahan Bitung Barat 1. Activities use an experience-based learning approach, from environmental exploration and educational games to crafts. Area Manager Communication, Relations and CSR Regional Sulawesi Lilik Hardiyanto said the program is intended to help children see the coast as an identity, a source of life and an inheritance that must be protected. During its run, RASI has held more than 20 activity series.
