Persib beat Arema 1-0 to top 2026 Presiden Cup Group A

Persib Bandung defeated Arema FC 1-0 in a Group A match of the 2026 Presiden Cup at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency, West Java, on Saturday (25/7). The win put Persib atop the provisional Group A standings with three points. The lone goal came from Uilliam Baros in the 24th minute, when he finished a Rosembergne Da Silva pass on a quick counterattack. Persib later created several more chances through Baros, Berguinho, and Guaycochea, but could not add to the score. At the other end, goalkeeper Teja Paku Alam denied Arema several times. The visitors' best chance came in the 90th minute through Gustavo Franca, but his close-range effort missed wide. The result gives Persib an early advantage after the other Group A match ended in a 2-2 draw between DPMM FC and Tampines Rovers.
