Pulogadung fire survivors receive aid for 11 families
A total of 28 residents, including four school-age children, remain sheltered at the RW 03 secretariat near the fire site.
Residents who survived the fire on Jalan Palad RT 02/03, Kelurahan Pulogadung, East Jakarta, received aid from the East Jakarta Social Agency and PMI Kota Jakarta Timur on Sunday. The assistance was given to 11 households, or 28 people, affected by the blaze, including four school-age children now taking shelter at the RW 03 secretariat near the scene. The fire around 03.00 WIB gutted one house, a small grocery store and a food stall in the densely populated area. Three people died and one person was injured. The preliminary suspicion is that the fire started from an electrical short circuit at one of the power outlets. Sudin Gulkarmat Jakarta Timur deployed 14 units and 60 personnel; the fire was fully extinguished around 05.00 WIB.
