Singapore High Court rejects Paulus Tannos petition

Next is an extradition committal hearing scheduled for August 2026, before a final ruling can be issued.

The Singapore High Court rejected the petition filed by Paulus Tannos, also known as Tjhin Thian Po, a suspect and fugitive in the alleged corruption case involving electronic identity card procurement. KPK said the ruling was an important development because it clears the way for speeding up Tannos' extradition process to Indonesia. KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said Tannos' presence in Indonesia is needed so the case handled by KPK can move effectively into trial. The next stage is a committal hearing in August 2026, with final arguments from the Indonesian government, represented by AGC, and Paulus Tannos' legal team. After that, an extradition ruling can be issued, although the subject of extradition may still pursue legal remedies under Singapore's Extradition Act.
