School shooting in Tacloban, Philippines, kills 3
NEW: Police have detained at least one suspect, while the motive for the San Jose attack remains under investigation.
Three people were killed and five others injured in a shooting at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City, Philippines, on Monday morning. The attack occurred around 09.00 while classes were under way. Police said at least one suspect was detained shortly after the incident, while other reports said two people had been taken into custody and one other assailant remained at large. Eight victims were struck by gunfire; those injured were taken to the nearest hospital for treatment. Video circulating on social media captured a burst of gunfire inside a classroom as students and teachers ducked for cover. Tacloban police are still investigating the sequence of events and the motive for the shooting.
