Government targets 10 million new entrepreneurs by 2029

The government is targeting the creation of 10 million new entrepreneurs by 2029 to raise the national entrepreneurship ratio and expand job absorption. To pursue that target, Kementerian UMKM launched Bursa Wirausaha Unggulan in Jakarta on Wednesday (10/6/2026). Minister of UMKM Maman Abdurrahman said the program offers integrated services for young people, aspiring entrepreneurs, UMKM players and business owners, ranging from capacity building and legal registration to financing access and market expansion. Participants also receive financial management training and certification support. Financing access includes banks, Kredit Usaha Rakyat, financial technology companies and other partners. The inaugural event drew about 1,500 students from various universities.
