Stage II of Sekolah Rakyat construction at 93 sites reaches 71.13%
Twelve sites have topped 80% and are targeted for completion on June 20, paving the way for the 2026/2027 school year.
The Ministry of Public Works is speeding up Stage II construction of Sekolah Rakyat so the facilities can be used for the new 2026/2027 school year. As of June 4, 2026, average physical progress across 93 sites reached 71.13%. Twelve sites have already exceeded 80% and entered the acceleration green zone, with a target completion date of June 20.
The five most advanced sites are in Kota Semarang at 86.58%, Kabupaten Sragen at 86.09%, Kota Bengkulu at 85.77%, Kota Medan at 85.69%, and Kabupaten Sidenreng Rappang at 84.83%. Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo said the ministry coordinates almost daily with Danantara to address financing problems and other obstacles so work does not stall. The project also involves local governments, construction service providers and about 78.113 workers.
