Pedro Neto scores twice as Chelsea beat Everton 2-0

What's new: Chelsea climbed to fifth on 13 points, while goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez was taken to a hospital for tests after a head injury.

Pedro Neto scored early in the second half and again in the 90th minute as Chelsea beat Everton 2-0 in the Premier League at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday. Neto put Chelsea ahead 43 seconds after the restart when he controlled Jorrel Hato's low cross and beat Jordan Pickford, who got a hand to the shot but could not keep it out. Everton's best first-half chance fell to Thierno Barry, whose close-range header was saved by Emiliano Martinez. Chelsea later sealed the win when a blocked free kick fell to Neto inside the box. The result lifted Chelsea to fifth with 13 points, one place above Everton on 10. Martinez was later carried off after a collision with Jarrad Branthwaite and taken to a hospital for tests.
