Pedro Acosta joins Ducati from MotoGP 2027, replacing Bagnaia

The Spanish rider is signed for the 2027 and 2028 seasons and will team up with Marc Marquez on the factory squad.

Pedro Acosta will join Ducati Lenovo from MotoGP 2027, taking the seat left by Francesco Bagnaia at the end of the 2026 season. Citing the official MotoGP website on Thursday, the 22-year-old Spanish rider will become Marc Marquez's teammate for the 2027 and 2028 seasons. Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali described Acosta as one of the sport's most promising talents and part of the team's long-term strategy. Ducati General Manager Luigi Dall'Igna said Acosta fits the Desmosedici GP development project after Ducati had earlier confirmed Marc. Before the move, Acosta raced for Red Bull KTM Factory and finished the 2025 season fourth in the final MotoGP standings.
