PBNU speeds up NU's 35th congress in Jombang, venue 80% ready
Committee is installing 200 AC units and 1,300 bazaar stalls, with the Aug. 27-31 opening in Tambakberas set to host the president.
Pengurus Besar Nahdlatul Ulama is finalizing preparations for the 35th NU Muktamar at Pondok Pesantren Bahrul Ulum in Tambakberas, Jombang, East Java, scheduled for Aug. 27-31, 2026. Local committee chairman Kiai Haji Abdurrozaq Sholeh said the physical readiness of the venue is about 80 percent, with remaining work focused on interior setup and supporting facilities. Several main tents are already in place, including a roder tent for the opening and a large tent for plenary sessions. The committee has also installed about 200 AC units in the main area. Beyond the organizational agenda, it will open the UMKM Expo and Bazar 2026 on Aug. 20 with about 1,300 stalls. PBNU chairman Ulil Abshar Abdalla said the congress materials and organizational administration are ready, while about 560 PWNU and PCNU groups will attend through four delegates each. President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend the opening.
