Passers-by lift car to free 14-year-old cyclist in Singapore

A 14-year-old cyclist was taken to the hospital after he became trapped under a car in Jurong East on July 11, prompting about a dozen passers-by to work together to lift the vehicle and pull him free. Police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force said they were alerted at about 1:25 p.m. to an accident involving a car and bicycle on Jurong Gateway Road toward Jurong East Street 13. The teenager was taken conscious to National University Hospital. Video shared on Facebook showed bystanders, including elderly passers-by and motorcyclists, heaving the car up while one man reached underneath to pull the boy out. A 48-year-old male driver is assisting with police investigations.
