64-year-old hospitalized after 2 buses crash in Sembawang

What's new: Police are investigating the 55-year-old driver of a Tower Transit service 858 bus that rear-ended a shuttle bus.

A 64-year-old man was taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital after two buses collided in Sembawang on May 27, authorities said. Police said they were alerted at 1.25 p.m. to a crash involving two buses on Sembawang Road toward Upper Thomson Road. The man was conscious when he was taken to the hospital. The Singapore Civil Defence Force said another person was assessed for minor injuries but declined hospital treatment. Tower Transit said its service 858 bus rear-ended a shuttle bus at about 1 p.m. One passenger on the public bus reported elbow pain, and other passengers were moved to the next service 858 bus. Police said a 55-year-old male bus driver is assisting with ongoing investigations.
