Park fence at Flyover Kampung Melayu disappears in 4 days
East Jakarta officials are checking the missing asset on site and preparing security coordination to prevent repeat thefts.
The iron fence at a park under the Flyover Kampung Melayu in East Jakarta has disappeared over the past four days, apparently stolen. A resident named Ana said the fence was still there a week ago, but then vanished gradually over three to four days. She said the perpetrators numbered more than five, worked before dawn or in the afternoon, carried crowbars and hammers, and loaded the iron onto a bajaj waiting nearby. Residents initially thought they were city agency workers because they acted openly and without haste. Another resident, Lilis, also saw an attempt to remove the fence while the area was crowded. East Jakarta Mayor Munjirin said the city administration would check the conditions in the field and coordinate with relevant agencies to investigate the disappearance of the park asset and review its security.
