PAM Jaya targets 100% piped water service in Jakarta by 2029

Coverage now stands at 82 percent, or 8.9 million people, after 72,666 new connections were installed in 2025.

PAM Jaya is targeting 100 percent piped drinking water coverage in Jakarta by 2029 as it expands the network and adds new connections across the capital. The service now reaches about 82 percent of Jakarta, or 8.9 million people. In 2025, the city-owned utility installed 72,666 new water connections and received a Rekor MURI for the most pipe connections in a year. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said the achievement provides a base to widen access to clean water, especially for residents who still struggle to get service. PAM Jaya Chief Executive Arief Nasrudin said the pipeline network now extends about 13.200 kilometers and needs to grow by more than 2.000 kilometers to hit the full target.
