Palembang Sprays 10,000 Liters of Water a Day to Cut Karhutla Residue

The water mist spraying on several city roads has been under way since Oct. 11 to reduce dust left by land fires.

Firefighters from Satpol PP Sumatera Selatan Province spray 10,000 liters of water a day on several roads in Palembang to reduce dust and residue from forest and land fires. The water mist operation has been under way since Sunday, Oct. 11, and on Wednesday, Oct. 14, it was seen along Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and passing the Jembatan Ampera area. The measure is intended to clear remaining karhutla material still soiling the roads so the environment is cleaner and daily activity for residents is more comfortable amid the impact of the land fires.
