Padang Holds Anti-LGBT Declaration, Residents Sign 1-Kilometer Cloth

Residents in Padang, West Sumatra, joined an anti-LGBT campaign and declaration on Sunday, June 21, 2026, by signing a 1-kilometer white cloth. The event was backed by the West Sumatra provincial government, Polda Sumbar and Lembaga Kerapatan Adat Alam Minangkabau. Some participants carried banners, while Padang Mayor Fadly Amran also signed the cloth. In an ANTARA photo caption, the organizers urged people to commit to dealing with offenders under customary law and to eradicate or expel them from Minang land. The documentation also showed Bundo Kanduang taking part in the series of activities.
