Isuzu Karawang plant hits 300,000 units in 10 years
Since 2019, the plant has also exported commercial vehicles to 25 countries, with Isuzu Traga its highest-volume model.
PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia has reached a total production of 300,000 vehicles at the Isuzu Karawang Plant in Karawang, West Java, in a decade since the factory began operating in 2015. The facility produces Isuzu ELF, Isuzu GIGA, Isuzu Traga, as well as UD Trucks vehicles, including UD Quester and UD Kuzer, for the domestic market. The company said Isuzu Traga has the highest production volume. Isuzu also highlighted local content levels of 46,45 percent for Traga, 38,07 percent for GIGA, and 33,04 percent for ELF. The plant employs 884 workers. Since 2019, the Isuzu Karawang Plant has also served as an export base for commercial vehicles to 25 countries, including Jepang, Afrika Selatan, Filipina, and Panama.
