Odegaard's goal lifts Arsenal past Hull 1-0 and keeps them top

What's new: Arsenal matched their best 10-game start under Mikel Arteta with 27 points before the international break.

Martin Odegaard scored in the 72nd minute to give Arsenal a 1-0 home win over Hull City and send them into the international break atop the Premier League. The result extended Arsenal's winning run at home to 10 matches in all competitions and gave Mikel Arteta's side 27 points from 10 league games, matching their best start under him from 2022-23. A first-half VAR review briefly appeared to offer Arsenal a penalty for a shirt pull on Kai Havertz, but referee Farai Hallam instead gave an offside free kick after checking the monitor. Arsenal still found the breakthrough late, with captain Odegaard converting from close range to settle a largely uneventful game.
