Nvidia puts $1 billion into Naver, expands Korea AI buildout

What's new: Nvidia also widened its SK Group tie-up to more than 2 gigawatts of AI data centers and a projected $500 billion in business.

Nvidia is investing $1 billion in Naver to expand an artificial intelligence data center under construction in South Korea, deepening its push into the country’s fast-growing AI infrastructure market. The funding will let Naver more than triple the size of the site, which is being developed with Brookfield and will run on Nvidia computing hardware. Separately, Nvidia broadened its work with SK Group to build more than 2 gigawatts of AI data centers on the Korean Peninsula, with the first facility from SK Telecom due to open next year. Nvidia also said it will work with SK Hynix on future high-bandwidth memory chip designs, tightening access to a component in short supply as AI capacity expands globally.
