Norway beat Senegal 3-2, reach World Cup round of 32
The result leaves Norway level with France on six points, while Senegal must chase a big win in its final match.
Norway defeated Senegal 3-2 in the second Group I match of the 2026 World Cup at MetLife Stadium in New York/New Jersey on Tuesday WIB and secured a place in the round of 32. Marcus Holmgren Pedersen opened the scoring in the 43rd minute after coming on as a substitute, then Erling Haaland scored twice in the 48th and 58th minutes. Senegal pressed back through two goals from Ismaila Sarr, in the 53rd minute and stoppage time, but could not level the score. The win gives Stale Solbakken's side six points from two matches, level with France. Senegal and Irak still have a slim chance to advance, but must hope for results elsewhere while improving their goal difference.
