Non-ASN teacher allowance rises to Rp2 million, paid monthly

The money will now go straight to teachers’ bank accounts, ending the quarterly distribution through local governments.

The government has raised the allowance for non-ASN teachers from Rp1.5 million to Rp2 million and changed the payment system to direct monthly transfers into recipients’ bank accounts. Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti said ASN teachers will receive an allowance equal to their base salary. He delivered the policy at Istana Merdeka, Jakarta, on Thursday (11/6), as part of efforts to cut bureaucracy and speed up fund disbursement to teachers. Previously, the allowance was generally channeled through local governments and received every three months. The government is also preparing scholarships for 150,000 teachers who have not yet completed D4 or S1, valued at Rp3 million per semester this year.
