Newcastle United beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in north London on Saturday, with Anthony Elanga breaking the deadlock in the 62nd minute and Yoane Wissa adding a second 11 minutes later. Spurs had the better of the first half and forced saves from Lukas Hornicek, but Newcastle took control after the break. Amar Dedic's knockdown helped create Elanga's opener, and Wissa finished the second after Sandro Tonali was beaten in the buildup and then played him onside. Nico Gonzalez also impressed on his debut for Matthias Jaissle's side. The loss extended Tottenham's poor start under Roberto De Zerbi, leaving them without a league goal after their opening two games.
