Nevada judge dismisses case against 6 pro-Trump fake electors

A Nevada judge dismissed the criminal case against six Republicans accused of filing a false 2020 electoral certificate for Donald Trump after Joe Biden carried the state. Clark County Judge Mary Kay Holthus ruled Thursday that prosecutors did not show enough evidence that the defendants meant to deceive government officials, and that the state failed to present exculpatory evidence to the grand jury. Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford, who brought forgery-related charges, said his office will appeal. The defendants include Nevada Republican Party chair Michael McDonald and former Clark County Republican Party chair Jesse Law. The group signed paperwork awarding Nevada's six electoral votes to Trump even though Biden won the state by more than 30,000 votes.
