Netanyahu heads to Trump meeting focused on Iran nuclear program
What's next: The Israeli leader said he will push for continued scrutiny of Tehran even without new intelligence to share.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he plans to use a Tuesday meeting with President Donald Trump to press for sustained monitoring of Iran’s nuclear program. In an interview with Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” Netanyahu said Israeli and US intelligence services are already working closely together and that he does not expect to bring fresh evidence showing Iran’s capacity to build a weapon has been eliminated. He said the talks are still important because Trump will shape the next US approach toward Tehran. The meeting comes as Washington weighs how much pressure to keep on Iran after recent military tensions and diplomatic maneuvering.
