NCS opens Singapore AI center, plans 300-plus embedded engineers
What's new: The Singtel unit also struck deals with Changi Airport, IMH and Life3 Biotech to test AI in aviation, healthcare and biomanufacturing.
NCS, the technology services arm of Singtel, opened an AI Mission Centre in Ang Mo Kio on Oct. 29 and said it will expand its client-embedded AI engineering team from 100 to more than 300 within two years. The Singapore-based company said the added capacity will come from a mix of new hiring and reskilling existing staff. The center is meant to help companies and public agencies move AI projects from pilot stages into production use. NCS also signed agreements with Changi Airport Group, the Institute of Mental Health and Life3 Biotech on projects including runway debris detection, patient identification and biomanufacturing efficiency.
